Smart City: Pelican Valley Takes Delivery Of Industrial Solar Lights Ahead Of 1st Ecostay Apartments Launch
The steady journey to igniting the planned Smart City in Masa Kobape corridor of Ogun State which Pelican Brief Estate and Pelican Ecostay Apartments represent took a further giant step towards the set target on Monday, January 15 with the management of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited taking delivery of the first batch of multi million naira industrial solar street lights.
At the historic launch of the two novel real estate products in September 2022 had in attendance a former governor of Ogun State, Aremo Olusegun Osoba, represented by Hon. Adekunle Adeyemi and other state functionaries at the time, the promoter of the estates, Ambassador ( Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, left no one in doubt that investors would enjoy necessities – he charted inner estate roads, quickly connected it to the 33KVA electricity line for over 18 hours power supply daily and provision 4 – armed security guards in the fully Government approved layout Estates.
Now the stretch of road connecting the estates to the 36 km Sagamu Inter-Change – Kobape – Abeokuta road will soon be aglow all night with industrial solar lights. Residents along that corridors are already excited that this is happening in their time barely three years after the foremost Nigerian real estate firm began the transformational projects in Masa community and less than three weeks after the first landlord moved into the estate with the arrival of the First Baby Of Pelican Brief Estate, who was born on New Year Day, January 1, 2024.
Speaking with newsmen at the symbolic presentation of the street lights at Pelican-Valley, Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, the supplier and CEO, Laxon Solar, Mr.Declan Ezikeoha, commended Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited for its ingenuity and selflessness towards changing the narrative in the nation’s real estate sector.
The laxon CEO however vouched for the viability and reliability of the industrial solar street lights supplied, adding that the product has been in existence for close to three decades.
Responding, the Chairman, CEO Pelican-Valley Nigeria Ltd, Amb. (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo lauded the contractor for the timely delivery of the items, disclosing that a whooping sum of twenty million naira (N20m) had been invested in the industrial solar-powered street lighting for the link roads that connect the housing projects on the corridors of all Pelican Valley estates in Ogun State.
Dr. Adeyemo noted that he decided to undertake the solar light project in strategic collaboration with the Ogun State Police Command for a possible siting of a police station in Kobape.
He said that the installation will soon commence, in preparation for the launch of the first set of apartments in the Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments, scheduled to be commissioned on September 11 2024.
The Ogun real estate poster boy explained that the estate is not a product of happenstance. On the contrary, he said it was deliberately sited at that particular spot in Masa-Kobape area of Abeokuta to give investors peace of mind. It is a place where man and nature will align to promote good health, and longevity and away from the congestion of Abeokuta metropolis. This is why it has become increasingly important that those who cherish a good health-promoting environment should key into the estates now and not delay any further.
