In a recent operation, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the burglary and theft of electricity cables and wires valued at four million naira in Ogun State.
According to a press statement issued by Commander (Dr) Soji Ganzallo through the Office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, on February 2, 2024, Abraham Johnson, 28, and Adekunle Rahman, 19, were captured at the Irewunmi Villa axis of Alade Community.
The statement revealed that the Corps had previously received a report of the burglary and vandalism of electricity cables, worth four million naira, from the new palace of Kabiyesi Oba Adeyemi Adelekan Aladegbade 2, Olu of Araromi Alade.
ACC Tajudeen Odunmbaku, the Ado Odo-Ota Zonal Commander, was directed to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
During cross-examination, one of the suspects, Adekunle Rahman, admitted to being part of the two-member gang responsible for the palace’s cable vandalism in collaboration with Asumo, his previous accomplice.
He disclosed receiving a meager seven thousand naira during their initial operation.
This time, he masterminded the attack with a new partner, Abraham Johnson, only to be apprehended before executing the plan.
The arrested suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Headquarters, for thorough investigation and potential prosecution.
