Team Ogun on Sunday edged out the Golden Eaglets 2-1 to qualify for the final of the football event in the ongoing 22nd National Sports Festival (NSF) in Ogun State.
The festival tagged “Gateway Games 2024” which began on May 16, will end on Friday.
Daily Trust reports the Golden Eaglets are participating in the sports festival under the Invited Junior Athletes (IJA), an initiatives of the National Sports Commission.

At the intense semi final match played at the stadium of Remo Stars football club, Ikenne, team Ogun in a major upset edged out the Golden Eaglets.
The team lost its first match to Ebonyi 1-0 , defeated Team FCT 3-1 and Team Borno 4-1 during the preliminary stages.
In the quarter final, team Ogun defeated Team Delta 2-1 and repeated same feat in the semi finals, knocking out the Eaglets.
The team Ogun’s coach, Akeem Daranijo, who expressed satisfaction with his boys performance, said they have what it takes to win the gold at the end of the day.
Team Ogun would play Team Kwara in the final of the men’s football event taking place at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta on Tuesday.
