The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has announced the recovery of N365.4 billion and the successful prosecution of 4,111 cases in 2024.

The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, disclosed this on Saturday at the conclusion of a three-day retreat for the commission’s directors in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

The retreat, themed “EFCC: The Journey So Far, Ensuring Professionalism and Integrity,” focused on strategies to enhance efficiency and public trust in the agency’s operations.

According to a statement by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Olukoyede attributed the commission’s achievements to the dedication and sacrifices of its personnel. He assured that within the next six months, Nigerians would witness a reformed EFCC, committed to higher levels of professionalism and integrity.

“In 2024, the Commission secured 4,111 convictions and recovered over N365.4 billion. I commend the hard work, sacrifice, and discipline of our staff. However, we must aim to surpass these records and ensure greater commitment to integrity in all our processes,” Olukoyede said.

The EFCC boss reiterated that for the anti-corruption war to be effective, the agency’s workforce must evolve into a highly motivated and honest team. He stressed that professionalism and transparency remain non-negotiable in the commission’s operations.
