Following an attack on Mafa village in Tarmuwa Local Government Area of Yobe State, Senator representing Yobe East District, Musa Mustapha, has charged security agencies operating in the state to go after the murderers and make them face the law for the mindless killing of law-abiding citizens.

The lawmaker gave the charge on Tuesday while reacting to the killing of about 70 local farmers in Mafa village by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

In his words, Senator Musa Mustapha said, “I am shocked beyond words at the extent of killing and destruction that took place on Sunday in Mafa village of Tarmuwa Local Government.

“To say the least, it is unimaginable. Nothing whatsoever justifies this gruesome murder of innocent citizens.

“I condemn in the strongest terms possible this barbaric act; it is despicable, callous, and an assault on humanity.”

He prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed and equally condoled with their relations, as well as the government and people of Yobe State.

The fresh attack has continued to generate widespread condemnation from within and outside Yobe State.
