Breaking : Tinubu Nominates Abiodun’s Choice, Salako, Oyetola, 17 Other Ministers

The president, Bola Tinubu has appointed 19 other ministerial nominees including former governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola and  former Commissioner for Health in Ogun, Ishaq Salako, a loyalist of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun .

PLATFORM TIMES gathered that the new list of ministerial  nominees was submitted by former Speaker of House of Representatives and Chief of Staff to president, Femi Gbajabiamila to the Senate president Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday.

Akpabio after the screening the 28  nominees of the first list, read the letter from the president that contains 19 names  of the second and the final list by the president.

The Senate had screened 28 ministerial  nominees who  included former governors of Rivers, Kaduna and Kebbi states, Nyesome Wike, Ahmad El-Rufai and Abubakar Bagudu respectively .

Others who were in the first batch of the list who had been screened are, Special Adviser to president on media, publicity and special duties, Dele Alake, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Lateef Fagbemi,  former minister of health, state, Prof. Ali Pate and many others.

The total number of the nominees submitted to the Senate as at Wednesday, by the president, is 47 .

The nomination of  Salako put to rest that the president was not in  good term with the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun .

Some members of the All Progressives Congress in the state had expressed disappointment with the name in the first  lost from Ogun state, Wale Edun.

Some APC members who spoke with PLATFORM TIMES under the condition of anonymity said the state would not feel the impacts of Edun as a minister  .

They complained that Edun  was never seen associating with the party in the  state as he operates his business in Lagos. .

But, on Wednesday, when the name of Salako who was the coordinator of the election campaign of the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial district, Solomon Adeola in the last election, there was jubilation in Abiodun’s camp.

There had been insinuation that  former governor  Gbenga Daniel had nominated his successor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun as a minister from the state.

Another section was also claiming that the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole has been nominated for a ministerial position from the state.

The emergence of Salako who was a member of the party from Ogun West and a loyalist of Abiodun might have put an end to the insinuation that Tinubu was angry  with Abiodun over his role during the party’s primary .

Abiodun was caught working for former Vice President,Prof. Yemi Osinbajo  against Tinubu’s emergence as the APC presidential candidate .

The governor was said to have sent a lot of emissaries to the president to forgive him for his role.

This acceptance of his list against Daniel and Amosun might have shown that he has been forgiven.
