In a tragic turn of events at a nightclub in the Bonny Island area of Rivers State, a yet-to-be-identified soldier allegedly stabbed a bouncer, Kingsley Abbey, to death during a routine search at the club’s entrance.

The incident unfolded when Abbey discovered a dagger on the soldier during the search and subsequently denied him entry.

The deceased bouncer’s wife, Mrs. Diepreye Abbey, expressed her anguish, recounting the desperate search for her husband after hearing about the incident.

She visited multiple hospitals until finally finding him at Macaulay, where he had already succumbed to his injuries.

Mrs. Abbey, a mother of four, tearfully recounted the details of the altercation, emphasizing her need for justice.

“I need justice for my husband.I have four children. Who will train them? I’m not working for now. I need justice,” she pleaded.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Superintendent Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident and assured that an investigation was underway to determine the identity of the suspect.

“Yes, I can confirm the incident from what the Divisional Police Officer told me.

But the identity of the person who stabbed him is unknown. Investigation is ongoing to verify the identity of the person who committed that crime,” she stated.

Iringe-Koko emphasized the commitment of the police to uncover the truth and ensure that appropriate legal procedures were followed.

“Once we can get the identity of the person, we will take it up from there and ensure that the necessary procedure is followed,” she affirmed.

As the investigation unfolds, the community awaits answers and justice for the grieving family, raising concerns about the consequences of violence within the security forces and the impact on innocent lives caught in th cross fire
