In a poignant gathering at Ibara Prisons and Stelar Obasanjo Motherless Babies homes, a wave of heartfelt eulogies swept through the air as Reverend Mary Bamgbose, the widow of the late Peoples Redemption Party gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, Prof. Olufemi Bamgbose, commemorated her late husband’s posthumous birthday.
Late Prof. Bamg ise who was the Provost of Yewa College, was fondly remembered by many as a philanthropist and education advocate, left an indelible mark on the lives of numerous beneficiaries, particularly those residing in Ibara, Ijebu, Sagamu, and other prisons.
The widow, accompanied by staff members and students of Yewa College of Education, presented gifts to the homes in honour of her late husband’s legacy.
Reverend Mary Bamgbose shared poignant stories of her husband’s dedication to uplifting the less fortunate, recounting his impactful contributions to the education sector.
Late Bamgbose, during his lifetime, extended scholarships and empowerment programmes to inmates, earning him admiration and gratitude from those he supported.
At Ibara Prisons, D.S.C Awesu led prayers for the repose of Prof. Bamgbose’s soul, emphasizing the enduring significance of his contributions.
The widow’s visit, laden with gifts, not only paid tribute to the memory of her late husband but also reassured the recipients that the Bamgbose family remains committed to upholding his legacy.
Officials at the motherless homes echoed praises for Reverend Mary Bamgbose, commending her for sustaining the late professor’s impactful legacy.
They lauded Prof. Bamgbose for his unwavering dedication to the youth, emphasizing how his contributions have shaped the future of countless individuals.
Prof. Bamgbose, who passed away on September 2, 2022, at the age of 54, continues to be remembered as a beacon of hope and change.
As his widow, accompanied by devoted members of Yewa College of Education, stands at the forefront of preserving his legacy, the echoes of eulogies and prayers reverberate, ensuring that the impact of Prof. Olufemi Bamgbose remains etched in the hearts of those he touched.
